Compusense® five is a data collection system that operates on a local area network (LAN).
Server
The software is installed on one machine (a server or shared drive). Analyst stations and data collection stations operate from the main installation.
Analyst Station
This computer allows the user to design, present and analyze tests. The number of analyst stations per license is set during purchase of software.
Data Collection Station
This computer allows panelists to respond to questionnaires. The number and type of data collection stations is set during purchase of license. Compusense® five Panelist Workstation and
Compusense® commuter Station are examples of data collection stations. The Compusense® commuter Player is free, and licensing is based on number of results.
Local Area Network
Compusense five will run on many types of Local Area Networks including:

Server Information
The install of Compusense® five and additional components requires approximately 300 MB of free space on the server. Additional space is required for data files and is directly related to user requirements. The amount of space required will depend entirely
on the types and number of tests you run, but at least 1.5 GB free space is recommended when multimedia files will be used.
Windows 2000 and Windows 2003 are recommended for networks of all sizes. Client access licenses may need to be purchased.
Please check with the manufacturer of your server's operating system to determine limitations for concurrent connections.

Data Collection Station and Analyst Workstation System Requirements
Please note that the system requirements to run Compusense® five relate directly to Microsoft® requirements for running the different operating systems. Microsoft Office 2003 or 2007 is recommended on Compusense five Analyst Workstations for greater functionality.

Notes
1 Requirements reflect minimum and improved requirements for operating systems published on the Microsoft website. Exceeding requirements is recommended for improved performance. System requirements should be verified on the Microsoft website.
2 Microsoft Office 2003 or 2007 is recommended on Compusense five Analyst Workstations for greater functionality. We suggest that an analyst PC running Office have at least a 1GHz processor, 256 MB RAM, and 1024x768 display. Some features in Microsoft Office not used by Compusense five might require higher specifications.
System requirements of the analyst workstation must be sufficient to run the version of Office selected. Microsoft's website indicates hard drive space required for each version of Microsoft Office. System requirements should be verified on the Microsoft website.
3 Available hard drive space suggested is for Compusense® five analyst or data collection station installs. Additional space may be required to run presentations or to be available for proper operation of the computer.
4 Network card is not necessarily required to run commuter Station or commuter Player
5 For Microsoft Vista Home Basic, the system must have support for DirectX 9 graphics and 32 MB of graphics memory. For Microsoft Home Premium/Business/ Ultimate, the system must have support for DirectX graphics with WDDM Driver, 128 MB of graphics memory (minimum), Pixel Shader 2.0 in hardware, and 32 bits per pixel.
